The breakfast was delicious. My wife likes a cooked breakfast sometimes and was able to ‘design’ her own, which was very nice, and apparently very tasty. I like cereal, and the home-made granola with cherries and yogurt was delicious. I then had toast and marmalade. I am very picky about my marmalade, and the marmalade at The Golden Fleece was exceptionally good. We only stayed a night, but the information provided on the local area was superb and had we been there longer we would have made use of a walk that was mapped by ‘Bailey’ the dog. We’d had a day at a Steam Engine Rally near Taunton and were on our way for a day on the Trams at Seaton, so a geographically perfect and quiet stop over for us. Thoroughly recommended, and we knew we had to arrange our own evening meal so that was OK.

Ideally located for a two night stay whilst visiting relatives. Nice and quiet rooms set back from the road made it ideal for a quiet lie in (we overslept on both days so a very good sign!!). Rooms are very clean and nicely decorated. We opted for teh continental style breakfast which was generous and tasty. Very easy to book etc through Booking.com and the hosts made it easy throughout. Would definitely recommend and re-book next time.

The main plus for us was the superb grassy paddock. Our rescue dog had a wail of a time with the deflated leather football it was a stone’s throw from our room. Carol was welcoming and helpful we had delicious breakfast with good choice particularly enjoyed the fresh cherry granola and yoghurt. The beds were very comfortable and the room very carefully thought out. It’s an ideal spot to visit Forde Abbey and all the nearby towns and villages.

What a wonderful place, loved it’s all ground floor with car parked just outside of room, room was very fresh and clean, beds comfortable. Wonderful host , lovely extras in room, even tissues, dogs loved the paddock to run in. Breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice, perfectly cooked. Just beautiful all round small and peaceful. Definitely coming back!

Lovely clean modern room with a fridge excellent continental breakfast in room or full English breakfast a short drive away at the golf club was delicious nice staff and discount on food & drink. It was so nice to return again and meet the new owner who was very friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be returning. Also dog friendly with a nice paddock . We liked the bedroom and the bed it was the first place we have stayed where you could have your breakfast brought to your room there was a table and 2 chairs so we found that very convenient the lady that brought it to the room was very friendly I recommend them if you are looking for some were nice to stay that can't do enough for their guests book with them

Good location so we managed to visit all of the places we wanted both inland and on the coast. We enjoyed the breakfast hamper which we were able to sit outside to eat. The property is ideal for dog owners.

Loved everything about our stay at The Golden Fleece, lovely new owners, very friendly welcome, really great set up, exceptionally clean, so enjoyed having a bath, Molly our dog loved the paddock to run around in, Would most definitely stay there again Thankyou Gregg 😊

Comfortable room nicely furnished, had bath with shower, and a fridge. Easy parking there. The owners are currently improving the property so I expect the garden will soon have improvements. Quiet rural spot. Local pub closed (Sunday evening) so went into Chard to get some dinner. Breakfast was left for us in the fridge and on the table.

Very dog friendly with secure field to let them have a run. Very clean and comfortable. Excellent breakfast.
